The Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has instructed Delhi's Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to carry out the conversion of leasehold properties into freehold in the next two months. This is part of a string of important decisions made to provide transparency to the real estate industry. As the DDA chairman, Saxena also took key directives to make homes easier to access for those in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and bring transparency to the land allotments, and encourage green fuels.
What is the latest qualification for applicants to EWS flats?
DDA has taken the decision to remove the requirement that you have an annual income of less than 3 lakh for DDA flats in the EWS category. This will enable the allotment of houses in the EWS category more easily accessible and simpler for applicants.
What changes have been made to the allotment of plots for religious purposes?
DDA will be distributing plots of religious categories through auction. Based on the decision the criteria for determining eligibility of plots will be determined by MPD-2021. According to MPD-2021 regulations the two sizes/types of plots are available for religious useReligious plots have an area of less than or greater than 400 square metres and a religious center/plot that covers an area of greater than 400 sqm and up to 40,000 square meters.
What are the new steps to cut down on pollution of the air?
To reduce the air pollution and encourage green fuels authorities have authorized the installation of an electronic vehicle charging facility at the allocated DDA site for the Petrol/Diesel Pump and CNG stations. These stations for electric vehicles will come with a lower license cost.
The Plinth Area Rates (PAR) for the Financial Year 2022-23 were also approved. PAR is the basis for calculation of the cost for construction of flats. The PAR of flats that are offered in the DDA Housing Scheme 2019 and 2021 remains the same while the PAR for the older inventory has raised by 5 percent.
